Awards for first place overall male and female in the Runners’ AND Walkers’ Half Marathon and 5K races. Awards for top three finishers in each age division.

All other awards may be picked up at the awards tent. Please visit the awards tent if you think you finished in the top three in your age group. Medals and Awards will not mailed.

Course

Essentially a Keyhole Loop course, our USATF certified routes (runners’ half only) start at William Pond Park – gateway to the Sacramento and Rancho Cordova region’s crown jewel, the American River Parkway – and runs along the parkway paved trail through green meadows teaming with wildflowers, old growth oak forests and tree canopies, with spectacular views of the American River. Don’t be surprised if you see deer, turkeys, rabbits, and eagles along the way!

Time Limits

Runners’ Half Marathon have a 4:15 time limit (19 min/mi pace)

Walkers’ Half Marathon have a 4:45 hour time limit (22 min/mi pace) to finish

5K participants have 2 hours (38 min/mi pace) to finish

Aid Stations

This half marathon features the most aid stations of any half marathon around! Six on the runners’ course and eight on the walkers’ course, which is an aid station approximately every 1.5 - 2 miles. Our aid stations feature ice-cold water and Gatorade at every aid station, and are supported by local high school key clubs, college alumni groups, and high school cross country teams.

Driving Directions

The Parkway Half Marathon starts at William Pond Park, 5700 Arden Way, Carmichael, CA 95608.

• From Hwy 50, take the Watt Ave exit and head 1 mile north to Fair Oaks Blvd. Turn right on Fair Oaks Blvd and head approx. 2.5 miles to Arden Way. Turn right on Arden Way. Head approx. 3/4 of a mile to the William Pond Park entrance.

• From Capital City Freeway, take Arden Way and head east approx. 5.5 miles to the William Pond Park entrance.

Parking

Parking is available in William Pond Park and the Arden Way/McClaren Drive corridor and surrounding neighborhood, which is within easy walking distance to the start line. Plenty of parking signs and volunteers will assist you.  Carpooling is greatly encouraged!

Following are details of the parking logistics. Please note, it is very important that each of us do his or her part to make this plan work for everyone.

• William Pond Park: Opens 6:00 A.M. Closes when full. Parking inside the park is on a first-come, first-served basis. We anticipate the park will fill up by approximately 6:30 A. M., but parking will close to traffic once filled, whether earlier or later than 6:30 A.M. Click here to view a map of the William Pond Park parking area.

• Surrounding Neighborhood: Opens 5:45 A.M. No Closure time. For those who want to sleep in a little, parking in the surrounding neighborhood is the option for you!
